Film Photography/double exposure series
In photography, double exposure is a timeless tradition dating back to the craft’s inception. It was once called spirit photography, with overlapping figures resembling ghostly apparitions.
Double exposure with film offers a unique blend of images that I don’t believe compares to digital tools like Photoshop. This technique adds a touch of chance to the creative process, enhancing artistic expression with layers. Each layer builds towards crafting a distinctive image, enriching visual storytelling. The combination of the double exposures is limited only by your imagination.
The captivating photos are imbued with serendipity. The process involves capturing a scene or object, then rewinding to capture a different element. Little control is possible with the combination of the images; the results are unique and unpredictable outcomes. The thrill of not knowing how photos will develop is exhilarating. Often at times they don’t turn out how I envision. It’s like capturing a perfect shot by chance, guided by a mystical force
