Favourite Digital Photographs of 2022

Before I Share my favourite colour film photographs I took last year I thought I would do a post of my digital photographs particularly photos I created in response to 52 Frames a great weekly photography challenge I discovered last year .

I’ve attempted a few 52 week challenges over the years and have never succeeded this one was no different however i did get to 38 weeks before forgetting to do the photo and not continuing on.

I only realised when going through the photos to upload how many black and White Photos I took for the challenges . I’ve also added the theme

I’ve always enjoyed responding to briefs both professionally and with personal photography projects. However this year between work and focussing on creating a more cohesive portfolio and series of images I’m not committing to anything more than a post a week on here. You can also find me on instagram if you want to see more.

Sunday Stills

This weeks Sundays Still Challenge is a colour focussing on the colours quartz and diamond.

I have a few crystals I have collected over the years and was fortunate enough to find a crystal vein on our property years ago and collected alot of quartz crystals which unfortunately i have since misplaced.

Though as quartz and diamonds are mainly translucent and sparkly I’ve used images ive taken with my crystal ball using it as a lens to see through rather than focussing on its colour.

The crystal Ball causes refraction and turns the World up side Down

And because i feel i have gone completely of topic I have also included a moving image I took of my crystal ball and a tree with my 3D – 35mm camera which has 3 different lenses that simultaneously capture 3 different images of 3 different perspectives of the subject and when combined appear 3d.

Have a great week everyone

Sunday Stills Challenge #daylight Black and white.

I’m participating in Terri’s Sunday Still Challenge. This week is Daylight- Black and White.

Here in Australia it is Autumn. The days are getting shorter although the weather is still quite warm and people are still out enjoying the beach.

I actually took these photos this week for a 52 Week Project I am doing . This week the theme was “activity” after being unsuccessful capturing anything all week I returned to the beach yesterday and captured a few people engaged in different activities during the last few hours of daylight.

Day 16: Shipwreck-a Composite

rockpools.finaledit.jpg]

This Week on Instagram’s @community_whp account, the theme was “inspired”. As i am centering my submissions around puddles. While researching I came across a photo by Kyle Thompson which inspired this photo.

These are the photos i took to make the image. As usual I was limited with light and although it was low tide the tide was further up than usual and i had to search for suitable rock pools. none were the right depth or size so i decided that i would composite them in.

I initially had the idea of using the reflection though thought it may not have communicated the way I intended. So I put back in the boat.

I havedone alot of compositing before though only used an app on my ipad, for this photo I used photoshop. Its not perfect though i am pleased with what i am learnt and will use it in future to composite images.

Have a Great Day.

Day 15: Cameron’s Bight Jetty

Day 15 of 30 day photography Challenge.

Yesterdays post inspired me to make a series of photos per day.

Often I take many photos only to pick my best one then discard the rest. Today i challenged myself to take at least 10 different photos of Cameron’s Bight Jetty it forced me to seek new perspectives. Sure they’re not all great photos and i had a limited amount of time to take them though I enjoyed the totally new perspectives I saw .

So for the next 10 days I will be sharing 10 photos a day. I find it a little daunting as time is limiting and subjects maybe boring though i find it a good way for me to broaden my photography and seek new perspectives.

Goodnight

armushroom.3

Day 13 of 30 Day Photography Challenge.

Today I went up to Arthurs Seat looking for Mushrooms to photograph with my new macro extension Tubes attached to the lensbaby. There wasn’t a great deal though i did find a little patch of these mushys.

They were tiny. i’ll share more for Macro Monday.

All the best

I’m Back

Hi everyone it’s been such a long time since I’ve been on WordPress. Life’s busy you know how it is.201902161550306431031

I’ve decided to update my site beginning with a domain which has been funded by selling one of my of my Fine Art Prints -Boat in Fog at Red Hills Art Show. It’s from a series of prints of Fog.

This one was taken on a foggy afternoon in 2014. I love the minimal effect the fog creates on the landscape isolating the boat and also the tiny little figure of a sup boarder in the distance.

If your interested on purchasing a print please get in contact so we can discuss your requirements.aalittleboatcrop-1

The layout of the site will stay the same and I’ll primarily use the site as my portfolio. I also like participating with photography challenges and hope to do a photo a day for the month of June.

If you know of any photography challenges on here worth getting involved in please let me know and also any feedback on improvments I could make to my site would be good. I’d like to add an instagram icon link anybody know how to do that?

All the best

Zoé

Bridgewater Bay

imageThis Weeks photo of the Week from my 366 Project is another Landscape shot at Low Tide on Thursday night at the beautiful Bridgewater Bay on the Mornington Peninsula.

I’ve only been taking photos of Landscapes in the last year as I’ve been inspired by other photographers photos of my local area which is a Landscape Photographers Dream. That and also because my kids are getting older and don’t want to be in my photos anymore and bribing them is becoming too expensive.
